How it works

One tap, and the day records itself.

Daily Momentum has no timers to start and stop. You tap what you are doing; that one tap ends whatever came before and begins what comes next. Everything else on this page follows from that.

What is Daily Momentum?

A time tracker you drive with one tap. It measures the time between one tap and the next, and keeps what it measures in your own browser — no account, and no connection needed after the first visit. It is built to show you where the time went, quietly, and without judging what it finds.

One tap is the whole method

A traditional tracker asks for two actions per task: start a timer, and later remember to stop it. The forgetting is where those records go wrong. Daily Momentum asks for one action — say what you are doing now — and treats the previous activity as ended at that same moment. There is nothing to remember at the end, because the end of one thing is the beginning of the next.

Tapping the activity that is already running changes nothing, and nothing ever starts by itself. The application can arrange your buttons by what you usually do at this hour, but a switch only ever happens because you pressed it.

A day assembles itself

Suppose the morning went like this — three taps, nothing more:

From those three moments the timeline is already decided: breakfast ran from 08:00 to 08:30, deep work from 08:30 to 11:15, and the meeting began at 11:15 and is still going. Daily Momentum never stores a duration — every length you see is calculated from the moment one activity gave way to the next, so no two views of the same day can disagree.

Stopping without starting something new is allowed too. That leaves a gap, and gaps are shown honestly rather than papered over — a day is not only its named parts. A gap you meant to track can be given a name afterwards.

Does it need an account?

No. There is no account, no email address and no sign-in. You open it, tap what you are doing, and it is already working. There is nothing to register because there is no server waiting to hold your record.

Where is your record kept?

In your browser's storage, on your device. The activity record is not uploaded anywhere. You can export it whenever you like — as a JSON backup that restores completely on any device, or as CSV for a spreadsheet. The privacy page describes exactly what does and does not leave the device, and the manual explains how to get your record out.

Does it work offline?

Yes. After the first visit the whole application lives on your device, so tracking, editing and reading your day all work with no connection — on a train, on a plane, in a dead spot. A network is only needed for the first load, and for picking up an update when there is one.

Can I install it?

Yes. Daily Momentum is a progressive web app: on a phone, the browser's Add to Home Screen or Install option puts it beside your other apps; on a desktop browser there is an install control in the address bar. Installed or in a tab, it is the same application reading the same record.

What if I forget, or tap the wrong thing?

The record is repairable, because a record you cannot correct stops being trusted. You can change an entry's activity or its times, split one entry into two, merge an entry with the one after it, delete it, or give a name to a stretch you forgot to track. Every change can be undone immediately, and a change that would break the timeline is refused rather than half-applied.

Is it free?

The first month is free, counted from your first tracked session rather than from the day you found the app. After that it asks for CHF 25 a year — and asking is all it does. Nothing stops working if you decide not to pay, because there is no server that could switch anything off.

See it for yourself

There is nothing to set up first — the first tap is the setup.
